Disco Easter Basket
This Easter, step up your basket game with a fun, colorful DIY project that’s sure to steal the spotlight! Transform a simple rope basket into an adorable bunny-inspired masterpiece by dyeing it in pastel shades of pink, aquamarine, and lemon yellow using Rit dye. Supplies
- White rope basket
- Rit Dye in Lemon Yellow, Petal Pink, Aquamarine
- ColorStay Fixative
- Mini disco balls (two sizes)
- Mini mirror tiles
- Scissors
- Hot glue

Instructions
- Fill a pot of very hot water and add liquid Rit Dye, and 1 Tablespoon of dish soap.
- Wet rope basket under a faucet, then dip in dye bath. Rotate for 5+ minutes to be sure all sides are evenly dyed.
- Remove from dye bath, rinse and let soak in Rit ColorStay Fixative.
- Once the basket is dry, add a small (1.5”) mini disco ball to the basket. When placing, aim for just between the ears and a few inches down. Hold it in place with hot glue.
- Next, cut 6 strips of disco tiles (3 for each side of the nose ball) adhere using hot glue.
- Turn the basket around and hot glue the larger disco ball to the middle of the back of the basket, towards the bottom.
