Supplies
  • White Faux Baby's Breath Flowers
  • Rit DyeMore for Synthetics in Daffodil Yellow, Super Pink, Kentucky Sky and Royal Purple
  • Wreath Form
  • Mason jars for Dyeing
  • Paper Towels
  • Rubber Gloves
  • Kettle for Heating Water
  • Measuring Cup and Spoons
Instructions

  1. Cover work area with plastic table cover and have paper towels handy to protect against any possible spills. Gather supplies.
  2. For best results, rinse faux flowers in cold water to remove any finishes that may interfere with dye absorption. Leave damp.
  3. Wearing rubber gloves, fill small container with 1 cup of very hot water. Temperature should ideally be 200ºF.
  4. Add 2 tbsp of desired DyeMore Color to dyebath.
  5. Immerse flower heads into dyebath for 2-5 minutes. When desired color is achieved, remove from dyebath. Flowers will look darker when wet and will dry lighter.
  6. Repeat to create additional dyebaths with desired colors. We used DyeMore for Synthetics in Royal Purple, Daffodil Yellow, Super Pink and Kentucky Sky.
  7. Rinse in warm water until water runs clear, then cold water.
  8. Allow it to dry fully.
  9. Cut small bunches from each flower head and secure into wreath form. Repeat to cover the entire wreath, working in sections.
