Dye Your Holiday!

For us DIYers, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! Time to deck the halls (and gifts, of course) with color, color and more color. If your idea of the perfect festive holiday is lots of simple and fun DIY projects, then you’ve come to the right place.

Furoshiki Fabric Gift Wrapping

Furoshiki is a traditional type of Japanese gift wrapping that uses cloth fabric. It’s sustainable, reusable and so fun to make.

Dip Dyed Tassels

Attached to a gift, assembled as a garland or even hung as an ornament, tassels are versatile and fun.

Dip Dyed Gift Tags

These DIY gift tags add a fun pop of color to your gift wrapping and are sure to make a statement. Choose your favorite color or match your gift tags to the wrapping paper.

DIY Bottle Brush Trees

Looking to create a winter wonderland in your home? With just a jar and a little dye, you can hand dye your own bottle brush trees with whatever colors you choose!

Shibori Tree Skirt

Tree skirts might be the most important part of the tree because it’s where the presents go (wink wink). Which is why we were so excited to try shibori dyeing our own with some white canvas.

Wood Bead Garland

Stringing up a cute holiday garland will instantly add Christmas cheer without a lot of work. Our good friend Melodrama created this garland with dyed wood beads and we love how it turned out.

Dip Dyed Wood Slice Ornaments

When we got our hands on some Walnut Hollow wood slices, we realized we could create dip dyed magic for our tree this holiday. By simply dipping them in a mason jar, we created amazing colorful ornaments you’ll never find in a store.

Coffee Filter Wreath and Garland

Our old friend Sweet Paul was able to make a beautiful wreath and garland by simply dyeing white coffee filters. It might be the most original (and affordable) project we’ve ever seen!
